hi everyone since ive finally turned to the dark side and bought a Nissan prob best to start a build thread to keep track of where I go on this . before buying the DX last week i was and still are very much into performance jap cars (front wheel drive Honda's) . i had been building a pretty hardcore 3G prelude for the past 7 years and after 3 rebuilds and $22000 spent on a 2.0ltr b series i thought it would good to pull to much ignition and knock became the b series killer , on its run in tune we spun up 437fwhp at only 18-20psi boost on 95ron and it was est around 600fwhp on 30psi E85 , but yeah i could go on and on about it but decieded to go a navara as im finishing up where im currently working ( flyin flyout mining ) and purchasing a jims mowing franchise in sept and needed a tray back . i picked her up for $12000 and as i have a heap of go fast parts left from the prelude i have already installed the 8000k HID low/hi kit , restored the headlights , install LED tail lights , MB quarts 6" comp splits , 6x9s , autometer procomp ultra light 2 5/8 boost and oil pressure gauges , pioneer head unit . things to do is the EGR delete , install the front mount bar and plate 600x300x75 intercooler from the lude , full stainless 3" turbo dump , magna flow hi flow cat and tuned length 3" stainless exhaust from the lude which we will fab to fit the DX , BOV to battle compressor surge , timing chain replacement , and install the bucket seats from the prelude as the seats have full lumber and i hate bench seats . heaps of updates to come . thanks ........ marcus

and the lude

free'd up the airbox and cleaned the filter with some compressed air , plumbed in the boost gauge and made some slim line box's for the 6x9's and installed . I must say with the splits and 6x9's the sound is pretty dam good . now the hard part of plumbing in a pretty large (600x300x75) front mount intercooler and fab up a 3" stainless dump and single system joy joy joy ! .

Hey mate, not being a smart as but could u explain the bov and tuned length exhaust to me?
I have heard of extractors but never heard of tuned length after turbo...
With the bov, there is no throttle butterfly in the zd30 intake...

BOV in a TD... lol now I have seen it all.

anyway nice buy for $12k will be a capable ute if you put some MT tyres on and a 2" lift.

im toying with the idea of installing my turbosmart type 3 BOV as I have a heap of stuff in the shed from the lude . the fact it helps combat compressor surge but yeah only toying with the idea ? tuned length exhaust is having a hi-flow cat , mendral bends and little to no vertical mounting of the pipe and free flowing for the turbine to dump as much exhaust gases as possible , well that's what I was always taught . I have the exhaust from the lude which we will fab up to the navara . going to have a crack at finishing up plumbing in the remote oil pressure sender unit from the oil feed line tomorrow . I know it seems extreme but I have so much bolt on go fast stuff from the prelude I decieded " what the hell " .

got a fair bit done in the past 3 days , finally finished wiring up the oil pressure gauge but now the gauge is dead so i'll be ordering a new one soon , installed a t-piece to the oil pressure switch and im never ever going to do that again !!!!!!!!! what a horrible place to have it , done the EGR delete and made a stainless blank flange from this forum ( great info by the way fella's ) raised the front by 2" with adjusting the torsion bar adjustment , installed my blitz FATT turbo timer and a 12v source on the drivers side vent on the back of the cab . also put in my dual battery system as I had a brand new battery from the Honda and was given a 140 amp dual battery kit , I have a heap of 0 gauge wire in the shed so i'll swap it over in the next few weeks . hoping to have the exhaust and cooler done in the next few weeks .

been awhile between post's . I have weld'd up a full 3" exhaust only to have the cab go up in flames which is now replaced so while I was at it mounted a 1200lb winch that I got dam cheap and a high lift jack aswell . finished the intercooler which is a 600x300x75 bar and plate with 2.5" hot and cold pipes . going to test it tomorrow , also installed the bucket seats from the prelude and man they are comfortable . another member on here who lives across the road D22 FREAK I think is his user name has help'd with the intercooler and bracket for the winch which id like to say a big thanks . anyway here are some pics of the cooler set up .

yeah was welding a exhaust bracket to the back of the cab and up she went . na replaced the whole interior mate . heres some pics of the cooler and inside with prelude bucket seat fitted .

Nice build.

Why'd you bother with the tansmission temp gauge ?

Doing alot of towing ?

trans temp gauge was working as a oil pressure gauge . all it did was give me a reading that there was oil pressure as the switch is broken . yeah there going to be some heavy towing in the next month as I buying a mowing franchise and pulling a twin axle trailer with a zero turn mower on the back .

Hello there, can you please tell me if the prelude seats were difficult to fit?? Where there any modifications needed to get them to fit??

Ps they look awesome. Well done!

I just weld'd the factory bench slider to the prelude seats and the preety much bolted up . now onto my newest mod , 3" stainless snorkel in mat black
