Pete, what's the bet they shorted one of the glow lines?

I'd keep an eye on the glow relays. If enough current flowed through to blow the main fusible link, it won't have done the relays any favours. I suppose it could be the return from the alternator - nasty!

Update

Well got the car back late this afternoon and all was good.....or so it seemed. Had power and donk etc going well and then I tried to get some heat in the cabin on the drive back to Ulladulla from Nowra....oooops no heat even with the dial at the max heat position.

Haven't checked anything out yet (dark and pissing down rain) but will in the morning and I'm thinking that they have either bumped a wire off the heater solenoid or there's a fuse somewhere that has blown.

The problem that saw the main fusible link (180 amp) blow was related to a reassembly error when fitting the new timing chain last week. Seems the tech buggered up the wiring for the starter motor and this was shorting out. Thankfully that is fixed.
