Oil Type - YD25 Engine

Hi all,
I just had my service today and supplied my own oil for the oil change.
The oil I purchase for all my car is always Penrite.
Now my question is there was a bit of confusion whether my 2011 D22 TDI 2.5ltr would have a DPF on it which requires a Enviro type oil which is more expensive.
Wat got put in was Diesel HPR 5 which is a 5W-40 oil. Tried to match up the specs from the manual to the listing on the back of bottle if the specs are ok for my car/engine.
Any help would be great

The YD25 in the D22 does not have a DPF. The HPR 5 is a good oil to use and depending where in Aus you live the 5w-40 is fine.

Hey all, I followed opened a similar thread the other day which suggested doing a search 'which oil' to which I did and got squat!
Iknow the info is in here because I have seen the thread previously so not sure why it is not coming up in search function, understanding that someone else will correct me.....

I dispute that. The only trouble I have withsearching on here is going through multiple threads asking the same questions,

The search function is shit because people make stupid thread titles and rarely use the "advanced search" feature.

When topics end up with titles like "help I'm stuck"or "Need help ASAP" or any other stupid title it's not the fault of the search engine when results don't come up.

And if people learnt to use the "advanced search" feature which searches the thread body for the search criteria not just the topic there would also be more people finding things and less blaming the tools at their disposal.

And if that still doesn't work there is always the option to let google search the site.

Blaming the site for members short comings is not fair to those who put in such effort making the site work.

And for the record despite d22's not having DPF's when it comes to Penrite Enviro oil if you read the specs it is not the exact specs that Nissan say are required. It may never make a difference but for those wanting Nissan spec'd DPF oil it may be worth looking at other options.

How did you find that thread? Are you sure you didn't just create it to make a point

It's a catch 22, give people 5 results and they quickly claim there are no results to suit their specialised needs, give them 3 pages of results because the topic has come up 4 million times and it's too many results for them to go through and they want someone else to do the hard yards for them.

So Krankin what oil should I use in my YD25 engine, I've got some oil I drained out of a 1967 IH tractor which looks like it might even be the original stuff that IH shipped it with, that ought to be good oil being that it was made in the days where company's cared, will that do?
