Had the same problem. Got a welded high capacity Aluminium intercooler fitted and then dyno tuned..now 200kw and 600nm..Your intercooler has a leak. Genuine Nissan ones are poor, I've had 2 before going aftermarket.
Me too after market 20000klms no problem great grunt mine is stainless in OzYour intercooler has a leak. Genuine Nissan ones are poor, I've had 2 before going aftermarket.
Yes, even the ones you can buy in the UK are made in Oz.Me too after market 20000klms no problem great grunt mine is stainless in Oz
My experience is 100% identical! Definitely a bit more go with the HPD.I had 2 replaced under warranty at 40 and 80 thousand. When the last one went at 120K I went HPD and it seems to go harder but I haven't dyno'd it.
Thanks guys. Yeah i will get it replaced very soon. Its done 240ks so its time( assuming its the original). My experience is 100% identical! Definitely a bit more go with the HPD.
Be careful when getting catch can fitted, my father did me a favour when he borrowed my 550 and got one fitted, along with aftermarket intercooler, and the people who fitted it not only plumbed it up backwards but kinked the hose out of the crack case - two rear main seals and 1 front crankshaft seal later before the fault was found- I still think it is a good idea but check the work carefully, hose kink was hard to see.^ Exactly that. If you want to remove some of the oil, add a catch can in the engine bay somewhere - but you'll never get rid of it all.
I should probably note at this point that even if you do catch ALL of the oil, the remaining gas is mostly exhaust gas which will inhibit combustion, so if you really want to squeeze an extra bean out of it, direct the catch can output through a filter to the atmosphere. Please make sure you don't allow oil to drop to the road surface, it can cause issues for vehicles with fewer wheels.
Well said, 'Old Tony' the 2 wheel community appreciate the thoughts^ Exactly that. If you want to remove some of the oil, add a catch can in the engine bay somewhere - but you'll never get rid of it all.
