would I be right in assuming if the brake lights come on when you put your foot on the brake, the switch must be working fine? I checked the neutral sensor today and one of the wires snapped in my hand while trying to disconnect the plug, I repaired the wire to the plug but still no joy for me. I will check the clutch and brake switch tonight.

Generally that's the case, yes, but these cars often have TWO brake switches.

got it booked in at the mechanic in 2 weeks, think ill just let them deal with it, then ill send the bill back to the car yard I bought it from because they told me it would be fixed before they put it on the truck to send it to me

Nomisbear how did it go? I'm having the same problem, mine is a manual too.
Any solution?
