Hi all, come across this site searching for info on rumours that the 3.0lt is only good for 200 thou before packing it in. Hoping this is the place to find out if the rumours are true and also if they are has/does anyone know if the d40 engine will fit straight in as a replacement. Cheers

Welcome to the forum!

As another user here (Hiya, Scott) has proven, you can just about put anything in the Navara as long as it fits - his LS1-powered beast is proof.

The D22's power is delivered more smoothly than the D40's, I wonder if you might be better served by chipping and/or getting diesel gas than trying to transplant in an engine that, while more powerful, is only so because of the variable turbo and suffers noticeable lag as a result.

Welcome to the forum. I hope someone here can dispel the rumour for you, I'm sure there is plenty of people here with Nav's over 200K, not sure how many of them are the 3lt variety though. Although I do suspect like all rumours it only takes one person to start in and another person to feed it and then next thing it's a known fact.

Well that means I only have 17,000km's left out of my ZD30.

I can think of 10 ZD30's with 400,000km's plus on them, pretty much all are driven hard to. Thats GU and D22 spec motors.

Main thing is maintenance.

Dave.
