With a par of pliers push the rod back in the cilinder as far as it goes, push the fork forwards as far as it goes, measure the gap between the tip of rod to placment dimple on the rod , this will give you the extra rod legnth, undo the cilinder remove rod , make one that much longer round the ends on a grinder and fit it all back. If you have to force the cilinder bolts back in you might of made the rod a bit long, grind one tip a bit at a time till it fits with a bit of play, should be no need to bleed.
