trouble with a lot of those sensors is they are NPT threaded not BSP threaded. so they will screw in a bit but will not seal.

Can I remove it and plug it with a bolt?

yes.
i assume its a factory threaded hole. i suspect its a 10mm.

edit: that looks to be where the factory oil pressure switch fits.

Is there anything important I need to know as such or is it as simple as removing it and poking around to see what I can do?

Cowboys aye so the sender and sensor were on this bracket wasn’t bolted in I could unplug it like a PowerPoint it was literally just swinging around I lost 4 litres of oil in 2 days because on the dog water job lol

well that looks like the problem !
a half arse adapter, but it looks like you have the old sensor there to go back in.

Yep got the old one back in place again and not a single drop of oil is coming out so that’s good, I have a few photos from today’s work so hopefully if anyone is searching for a oil leak in future maybe this thread will help, thanks to everyone for the help I’ll still give the turbo a check just in case and to make sure anyway, job was painful I had to do a bit to get there taking out the starter motor wires and some of the steering arm and some brackets from the top with wiring and tie lots of things back to get in there
