Need advice! 2'' lift d22 / no lift

Not sure mate. I have 2.5" on mine with stock dump. It sounds fine to me, others say its quiet. The dump will change the note when it gets done.

Most companies only do 3" cause its easier.

fair enough if its easier for them, with an exhaust on is their any way to increase the turbo whistle noise? haha i wish mine was alot louder!.

No idea to be honest. Disconnect the intake pipe maybe lol.

most of my whistle comes from snorkle (but I am tone deaf.....) so less restrictions in air intake might help a little as well (but I have no muffler as well, so that could be it too). Hang on, nope... just hearing noises now

some of the hilux's stock whistle like crazy.. maybe i just need a new turbo hahaha. ill put snorkel on the to do list!

yeah, i'm gonna get my muffler taken out and the exhaust system shortened (only has to stick past the passenger cabin by 40mm! woo! should give a sweet note when thats done!

yeah that'd be amazing, exhaust is defiently getting put on mine in the next comming weeks just not sure what to get.. who to fit it.. what size to get i really dont know much about them.. this will be the first car i put a exhaust to a diesel.. they say i defiently need a dump pipe

Cat + 2.75", no muffler, from Beaudesert exhaust - noise inside cab is noticeable but not too loud (won't ever be a roar from a 4cyl 3L desiel and no one should really expect it to be but I like mine)

You can get hi flow Cats if you're keen, but they're direct off the dump so put it in when you change dump over (mine was a pita to do myself).

lawright that sounds preety good i must admit, you can hear the turbo whistle outside the car when it spools up.. thats exactly what i want! hmm so i guess a exhaust will do the trick.. i just hope i can get one put on a 2011.. i swear tjm dont know what they are talking about not being able to put exhausts on 2011 d22 str's ><
