Hi all,

Yesterday I noticed a small bit of oil on my drive way which seemed to be coming from the transfer case. Anyway I cleaned the oil off the transfer case and around the sensor with a rag then let the car sit overnight to see if any more leaked out onto the drive way. Anyway this morning I was in a hurry to get to work and didn't notice any more oil, but when I started backing out of the drive way the car died on me. Restarted a couple of times and each time I would move the car a couple of meters before it would stop running. I haven't had a chance to have a proper look at it as its stuck in the drive way (took my wife's car to work). Anyway I'm not sure what the sensor on the transfer case is for, but could I have done something to the sensor and its causing the issues im having? or could it be a lack of oil in the transfer? Or something else altogether that's causing the Nav to cut out?

It's unlikely anything on the TF caused the engine to stop. A bad sensor on the TF might cause the 4WD light to come on, but that's all.

How much fuel is in it? Does it crank over or not?

Things that make a NAV stall (most common):

Fuel Filter
SCV
Fuel Pump
Air in the line (refer fuel filter)
Blocked fuel line (refer fuel filer)

Start at the fuel filter. Remove / Replace (if older that 10,000km) Check for any leaks.
Remove SCV and clean and replace.

Yeah everything cranked over as normal. New battery installed only last week. Just kept on stalling on me after moving a few meters and yes plenty of fuel onboard. Checked for any error codes using my cheap OBDII bluetooth adaptor and phone but no issues detected. Anyway i started the car up after getting home this arvo and had a short drive, had no more issues. Lets hope it stays like that.

Thanks all for the feedback.
