loud rattle when start up and quietens when half temp

hi i am new to this forum
when i start my car in mornings it has a loud rattle and is loud when reved,it gets quieter when bout half temp but still noisy,has had new head and timing chain so cant be chain hopefully,sounds like it on top of engine about half way,its under rocker cover or under turbo pipe that goes over engine
still runs fine but does seem a little sluggish and underpowered
could it be an injector

Run a couple of cans of liquid moly Diesel purge through it if it is dirty injectors this will help

When you changed the chain, did you fit a new upper tensioner? If so was it a genuine Nissan one?

the personn i got it off said they didnt change tensioners as where ok but shud i mayb hava look

sounds like your diesel got waxed.. run alpine diesel.

ok sweet will try it,yea runs loud as when cold but go quieter when half temp but still can hear,defintly coming from somewhere under rocker cover or that area

Hey mate. Try this little test also. Wait for the noise to clear or settle then spray you fan belts with the garden hose a little and see if the noise returns. If it dose replace your fan belts. Old belts are prone to noise in winter. Let us know how you go. I bet this is you problem.
