Just noticed that the lights in all the power window switches and the switch to adjust the door mirrors are no longer working. I've checked all the fuses in the 4 different locations (think that's all of them) and they are all good. Have I missed any? All the switches still work fine so is it just the globe's and if so how do you change them?

If all the globes went out at the same time I wouldn't suspect the globes, I'd suspect either an earth point on the BCM (Body Control Module, it's under the dash near the steering column next to the Transfer Control Unit) or the positive output of the BCM. It could be the indicator stalk with a dodgy connection on the parker switch. Do the other interior lights come on (instruments, console) and the external lights (parkers front and rear)? They're all controlled by the BCM.

What happens if you twiddle the light switch a bit? Anything? How about rotating the steering wheel in both directions (best done on a loose surface)? These could indicate a problem in the steering column harness.

You could try unplugging the BCM and plugging it back in. It might reset your trip meters and you might have to re-enter your radio PIN so make sure that's handy.

These are easy things, no cost and no panel removal (and very quick to try). The units don't use the same globe so I would suspect something else.

Is it possible that someone's been toying with the stereo and tapped into the wiring off the BCM for these lights, severing the wire by using a crimp-on connector? What about adding some other switch which requires backlighting, like the Carling range (eg this one), or the ones from ARB?

Thanks Old.Tony, I've wiggled the switches and checked connections and still no lights. No one else has touched the car and there hasn't been any electrical accessories fitted. I've since realised that the door window switches do come on with the ignition on (for some reason I thought they come on with the parkers) so that's one less thing to worry about. The only thing I've done out of the ordinary is plug in an obdII reader and run the torque app but I can't see how that could do anything.
