you should meet the criminals in leeming (my sub)

they broke into mums car, and took her purse which had like 50 bucks and all her cards in it.

a few days later the purse and all the cards were left at the door (minus the cash) lol

My mother in law had a similar thing happen at Bull Creek Shopping Center, her purse was knocked off from her trolley while she was somewhere near Target and by the time she'd gone to Centre Management and reported it etc the Woolworth Liquor rang her to tell her that her purse had been handed in to their register.

It was without the cash when she got there but the coppers got hold of the security tape from Wollies and sure enough the idiot who handed it in saying he'd found it near the bourbon fridge was the same idiot who stole the thing in the first place. The video showed him taking the purse out from under his shirt, then taking out the cash and heading for the counter with his bourbon. Still took them 48 hours to find the guy but they did find him although the money was never returned.

sorry to hear that,

if i would have saw the little barstad's i would have made sure they went home with a broken nose atleast and hopefully a broken jaw.

i can stand how dero bogans have to destroy stuff because it's better then what they have.

I wonder if a slash in the tonnou is just a quick way of looking in to see if there is anything worth pinching. If there is, maybe a bigger cut will give then access and your tools or whatever are gone in a flash.
Good luck catching the mongrels.

Roundy,

Just a thought as far as repairing your tonneau cover. Have you considered finding someone who does vinyl welding. They should be able to do a fairly neat job because it's a nice clean cut and your cover looks in good condition.

Cheers,

Russ

Hey Russ,

Never heard of it!? What sort of $ & what's involved? It is sitting in the garage at the moment to be sewn up and if that doesn't work will buy another as if seen em go on ebay for around $300

Cheers for the suggestion!

If you end up getting a patch sewn on maybe get something printed on it, they can do it at sign shops. It might make something come good from a bad situation.

They're still assholes.

The other place to look is a truck tarp maker. When I used to work party/builders hire in Western Syd we used to take the vinyl marquees to a bloke further out west who fixed truck tarps as well as smaller canvas jobs. Given that welding vinyl thats been slashed is the same process as making a vinyl wall in the first place it's a fairly easy job for these sort of guys.

I'd imagine with the hammering some of the taut-liners get crossing the Nullabor there would be a good number of these guys out west of Perth

For that matter, now that you raise that particular point Krafty, it's likely that a caravan repair place could do the work too - annexes and pop-tops have that sort of material in them.

If they can't they'd certainly know who to send it to cause as you say they'd deal with it at some stage.
