If its ADSL, your line has some decent faults.

No ADSL for me. Too far from the exchange. 3g wireless but it has been slowed for the last week or so. Expecting a big improvement tonight.

Do you have a choice when it comes to isp? I can only go through Telstra Velocity

Had a look at iprimus and iinet fibre plans and Telstra actually works out cheaper, who would have thought!

Telstra have the best service, there the backbone of telecommunication's in this country.

Why are they dearer ? From what I have seen its because the have to pay for all the maintenance on the ADSL system's which most ISP's jump on board as the goverment screwed Telstra over.

TPG, AAPT, Optus etc dont spend any money on the lines going to your house, the fibre's between the exchanges etc.
