Here goes mine. Purchased car 2nd hand with 12000kms on it. Was getting a brilliant 750km to just after the fuel light came on. So say 20-40km after light came on. Since changing oil at 20000km from a 5w oil to a 10w oil I started getting a ridiculous 600km to the tank. Recently changed to 5w fully synthetic and added chip and still getting a mere 600 to tank.I have no idea what the crap is going on and nissan just keep.cleaning the maf sensor and reseting the ecu. anyone help me out? Thinking about doing the rail limiter mod and upping the boost from 18 to 20psi.
Muzza any ideas on what i can do? You have all similar mods and still get great economy. I'm finding it hard to judge what fuel usage a should be measuring off for.ky trip to cape next July,August.

Rusty I too use a castrol 5w -30 fully synthetic oil i'm happy with my fuel economy when towing the worst i get is 13-14 ltrs/100 . If i could get rid of some of the black smoke i'd be happier and would surely get even better economy. At the moment i have had the the EGR blanking plate off for a couple of months as i've had the car back at nissan so need to put that back on and see if the black smoke reduces. not sure the limiter mod will make a difference for you

The air filter was full and blocked with shit. So I've cleaned the kn filter and a paper will take its place till it drys and I wax it.

yeh weight or extra things like a roof basket create more drag and brings the km's down
all my driving is on the highway sitting on 100kmh unloaded car and im not carrying any extra weight like a bull bar etc.. not to heavy on the right foot either.
may have to look into this further. Might hit nissan up now that i know people are getting over 700km. last time i told nissan i was only getting about 600km they said this was normal. but its a bit more obvious now that its now.

Nissan's response while not entirely encouraging is about all you can expect from them. They can and probably will do and ECU reset (which you can do yourself) but given that there is no exact economy figure that any vehicle must get figures of around 10 aren't that excessive that will force Nissan into an in depth inspection.

I'd agree with what Krafty said The way you drive it makes a difference. even if you're doing highway driving do you sink the boot into it up hills, do you get the best power out of each gear ?

Hey guys.
Got my nav zd30 about 2 months ago with new motor and turbo.
Did egr + butterfly/swirl mod and on average getting over 720km in different conditions but generally gear changes at 2.5 unless need more grunt.
Seems to get some good km's outta this ute..
