How far back have you dumped it? I want to he rid of my rear muffler an just have the cat. Might drop it to an exhaust shop this week or something.

Mine is a 3" taipan exhaust, and the last piece starts about 100mm past the cab, so I just need to make a tip to angle it towards the ground to make it legal.

Rules are its gotta finish at least 40mm past the passenger cabin and be within a certain angle range towards the ground.

The taipan exhaust has two hotdog style mufflers in it and doing this has removed the smaller of the two, I've also noticed a bit of an increase in responsiveness under my (rather heavy) right boot.

If I could source the pipe, I'd remove the other muffler as well...

Yeah I have a taipan top. I've removed the resonator closest to the motor but I now want to remove the "vortex muffler"
To try get some more throat out of it.

Very nice. Removing the vortex has given is some burble, as well as an overall deeper tone. I like it.

I wanna wake up neighborhoods when I'm cruising at midnight.

Haha me too. I just want it a tad deeper.
Ill take a video of the sound it makes later. It's quite nice but would be nice just that little bit noisier.

Haha. Most definitely, I'll do similar and take some vid tonight if I can manage it, see what kind of crappy sound quality the iPhone can bring me.

I hope it's okay cause that's what I'll be recording with. I haven't got a wiz bang video camera. Just an expensive dslr (Expensive to me atleast)

Anyone keen for a trip to 5 rocks on the 20th for the day? Probably meet at about 6:30-7 at the Mt Larcom servo then head up from there. Ive got a few mates camping up there for the weekend so will meet up with them aswell. At the moment there should be about 4 cars coming

Sorry guys, at this stage, I won't be able to make it.

I ended up heading up to nine-mile beach on my own, which was alright. It was a tough drive over though, the sand was super soft and you really had to keep your momentum up for the whole slog up the hill otherwise you'd never make it. I ended up needing a few chops at a few sections in order to get over. But all the engine mods to my truck really showed their worth to getting over. After the amount of trouble I had getting over the hill, I decided to skip trying to make it down to five rocks, and was quite content to just soak up the beach on nine-mile.

On my drive back to Gladstone I fiddled with the pyro gauge to see what the maximum recorded temp was.

Now I'm scared, because this is a post turbo reading, but it would have to be an error, I wouldn't think that CHIPIT probes would have the calibration or range to reach this kinda temp.

Three rivers is where you want to go. I never go to nine mile anymore. The fishing and spearing is much better. Old big sandy is a game for new players gets a bit softy after people try driving it with hard tires (fools). I have always got it first go but.

Yeah, I love the drive over to three rivers beach, but considering the amount of trouble I had driving big sandy, I decided to skip it, just couldn't be effed, tbh. And I'm pretty noob-ish at sand driving.

Was probably thinking of going to Eurimbula in the morning, have lunch at 1770 then shoot through to Many Peaks and have a quick look at the gold mine stuff in the arvy.

Let me know what dates you are free and the date with the most people free will be chosen

Sweet looks like everyone has got off just after new years. Throw up some suggestions of places to go if there are any.

I'm also going to Kroombit this sunday if anyone wants to come along. I've got 4 cars going so far
