Gearbox oil

Hi guys. I am new at this forum stuff, and was after what gearbox oil to put in my Nissan navara d22 model. That has done 320,000km. Would a thicker oil do.

If so does that affect anything.

this is the best one mate,don't use a thick oil otherwise you will be crunching gears, that's if you could get one.

Nice amount of ks on your d22, I changed gear oil at 240000k for the first time, gear box is still like new, just did it because its the first time I thought of it! I will have a look through my mechanics invoices tonight to see if I can find what oil he used.

just remember to always put GL-4 oil in the tranny

Yep, API Spec GL4, very important, changed mine recently and put Nulon SAE 80 in, it's GL4 Spec and gear shifts are buttery smooth, 185,000km on her. If you put gear oil in that's too thick it'll impede shift ability too.
