gas shock adjustment?

hey just wondering i have gas shocks all the way around..
but near the bottom of each there is a valve to put more gas/air in..
if i was to say pump it up would this do anything for the ride height or would it just make my nav rough as fuck to ride in?

Springs set the ride height not shocks.
