Hi guys have been reading a lot about how thirsty this model is and was shaking in my boots by the time we picked her up last Wednesday!
However, we have done some driving since then and even towed the boat about 50km and I have just filled her up. We are getting 12.8L per 100km and thats better than the Territory we just traded.
Must say we're pretty happy!

Hi, well that is pretty good compared to most of us wth D40 2.5 Litre diesel auto's. I have got around the same 12.8 L per 100 but mostly between 13 & 14 so if it keeps that sort of fuel usage up it should be good. I'm waiting for the new V6 diesel though, got one on order and the waiting is killing me. They're sposed to do 9.5 litres per hundred so they say.

Anyway good luck with your new bus and i'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Cheers, Worm..

Sorry guys new to the Navara stuff, 2007 D40 STX 6spd Manual V6 Petrol, lovin' it!

I have the 07 ST-X V6 manual and am getting 12.2l/100 at the moment and it will get good economy when your treading gently. Stand on it hard and it will drink it .The more you can use cruise control the better the economy .
enjoy it . Its a great engine.

All good, I was thinking a VG33E wouldn't be that good on fuel.

Dave.

my old pathfinder I had years ago with the 3.3 v6 used to do about 18L/100km mixed cycle and about 25-30L/100km over on Fraser Island, all in all a pretty painful experience with fuel (at the time) going for $1.80L

There thirsty the VG33E's but there bloody reliable, same goes for the VG30E.

Dave.

Oh yea never any problems from it, it just had the fabled drinking problem which got worse as it got older it seemed.

The VG33e is **** house on fuel but that is due to the lack of power because you have to ring there necks to get anywhere. With 265/75/16's I was only getting about 370-380 to a tank.Go the gen 3

Hey mate I've got a 4x2 4l v6 manual and I'm getting in the 12s per hundred unloaded and getting in the 14s per hundred towing a fully loaded tradies trailer. Fuel consumption in these things is really variable depending on how you drive it. If your lazy and have a lead foot its going to suck the juice

I can get mine down into the 11's if I plan my route to work correctly and use as much cruise control as possible.
I have the alloy factory bar ,hard cover, second battery and maybe another 50 to 100kgs of stuff in the truck all the time.
I can however empty a tank in under 200kms if I play silly buggers on the race track .

I'm going to start blaming you for all the bumps in the surface out at wacky.
