I just got back from a weekend trip to the Rutherglen wineries along the Murray River - a 1300 km round trip and I'm still checking my numbers.........usually get 13ltrs/100km but for this trip I thought I change the fuel brand and bugger me if'n I didn't get a marked improvement to 11.5ltrs/100km. I usually run Shell fuel but for this trip I took on a load of Caltex Vortex diesel and........well it seems to be a better drop of juice!

Did a 6000klms trip towing a 16ft pop top van and averaged 15.4ltrs per 100klm
Picked up our 22ft full van from melbourne and towed back to sydney in crappy weather but averaged 18ltrs per 100klms.
with the mods i dont think its that bad
Oh without towing i get around 12.5ltrs per 100klms
