I have got a 2012 STX 2wd that has done 26000k. It has an issue that the right hand inside brake pad wears out in 7000k(yes it has used 4 sets of pads). Have taken this up with our local dealer in NZ and we keep getting blamed. The ute is used for a rural mail delivery does 300k per day. I have replaced the nissan pads with aftermarket ceramic 4x4 pads and still the same happens. I think that the pistons are not releasing properly but Nissan non comittal. Anyone else have any ideas.

That is bloody ridicules!! i have had front pads last 370'000km i shit you not my last D40 had

90k on it when it sold and the front pads were not even half worn out.

There 100% has to be something wrong there, and if its only one side how the FARK can the

driver make that happen???? if were all the brakes then yes the driver could be at fault but one

side?? WTF!!

I would also think the calliper is faulty.

keep kicking up a stink, Put it on the navara face book page or the nissan one and see if they get

back to you.

I would be guessing its an auto as they are heavier on brakes. I would try taking the truck to an independent brake specialist and have them check it out.
I swapped over to ceramic pads and have got over 80k on the same pads.
What are the rotors like?

Rotors are fine. I know its bloody ridiculous. I also have a stx450 on the same pads and have no probs(dont do as many ks tho). Yes its an auto and I expect to use pads a bit quicker than a manual but as we had a manual before we brought the new one and were getting 20-25k out of a set ant they were wearing evenly. Nissan just dont want to admit a fault with their caliper as i have suggested to replace it. If its not sorted will tell them to shove both their utes and buy a VW.

Id say your calliper is seized if its only wearing one pad and report it to someone as it could not be safe with the limited braking power

I wonder if it could have something to do with the ABS unit?? it could be activating that side more then the other??
Does it pull to one side when you brake??

They have just replaced both front calipers so will see what happens now.
