Reckon ud be Better off speaking to an alloy flabby and designing one yourself..

That's exactly what I'm thinking. Make it clear everything and possibly house say a kH laser panel filter

Car and it's keys have been dropped off at my trimmer to have the marine canvas cover made tomorrow. Very excited for the results!

Just trying to research ATM an isolator for the winch. Looking to run and on dash switch to let power through to the winch. And then also an in out switch on the dash. So no need to use the handheld.
Should be easy just a basic 500amp solenoid. Switch by the in cab switch.
Then wire in a return to centre rocker switch into the winch solenoid itself. Sounds easy enough.

Or...

I could scrap the idea of the solenoid cut out.
And just wire a small toggle switch into the in cab rocker wiring. (mainly so I can't "bump"
It and pull the bullbar apart.)
Main reason i would like to cut complete power from battery to winch is so that just incase it ever shorts out weather in be in water or whatever, it won't activate itself and attempt to rip itself apart.
And I over compensating?

how bigs the outlet on the nav air housing, the one i,m looking at is 4 inch, plus if you take the mounts off its going to sit lower

Peace of mind

And plus I know there is a very very minor chance it'll ever happen. But i have heard of little twats pulling the cable over your car and shorting out the winch with a paper clip while it's Hooke to your tow bar and watching the at crush itself.

Gives me shivers.

That's true I didn't think about the mounts. How do you mount this?
I believe they are a 3 inch outlet mate. 4 inch is ridiculously big

heard people talk about that too, but never certain it wasn,t a urban myth. but whats a switch worth if it makes you feel better. If money was the main factor we wouldn,t run big tyres or put i/c on the ute or big exhausts.

if it,s 3 inch thats better again it would lower the profile, not by much but every bit might help. would have to change the outlet on that box to 3 inch. Would get my own tabs welded on when i worked out where it would sit

Exactly, well even if it is an urban myth it is very possible. And I'm sure some little tosser will do it to someone and it could be me haha.
I like to be safer than sorry. Main reason I have fitted the cooler.
Anyways there is a lot of people havin their winchs short out and bend their bull bars back on themselves. Early ironman winches were susceptible to this.
Anyways I've found a better way. I'll just isolate the small earth on the side of the winch. Small 10 amp control circuit which negates the need for a solenoid but will still render the winch useless. :)
Im so cluey

Yeah true. You could just use a downsize silicon hose. Does the job with less modifying.
What about the snorkel inlet. Another custom jobby? Goin to delete the pre clleaner now?

Get rid of pre cleaner(as people are doing with yd 25 snorkel), Inlet is on the side of that housing so short bit of hose to join it to existing pipe coming out of the guard, and it looks like the lid might be rotatable with those bolts on top,
