Hey guys,
Just thought I'd see if anyone has seen this problem, I have a 2014 d40 Thai build it has a factory smf. I have 4000km on the car and Nissan have replaced the clutch and flywheel I'm on to my third now I have no weight in the back occasionally tow my boat, last time I went in and inspected the clutch when they took the gear box out and noticed there wasn't even wear on the pressure plate any help would be appreciated as I'm dropping it off tomorrow to have it fixed again it seems to be very soft and engagement point is high.
Thanks

Wow, 3 clutches already and in for the next one and it's just got 4,000km on it? With only 4,000km on it I'd hardly say you've "towed the boat". You might have hooked it up a couple of times but 4,000km in total is nothing. It's not even ready for its first actual service.

There must be something else wrong. They're clowns for just fitting a new clutch again and sending you on your way. Inspect the clutch face and determine if it's only being worn on the flywheel side - the flywheel might have machining marks or some damage?

There might also be something wrong with the lifting forks. I'd say it needs the attention of a gearbox/clutch specialist, someone that knows how they work and not someone who follows the standard Nissan recipe. That recipe is good a lot of the time, but there will always be the occasional instance where someone with a little expertise needs to have a look at it.

Good luck!

Yep, totally agree 100% with Tony, that many clutches in that short a time means there is something else wrong. Can you tell whether you have a DMF or SMF by just pulling the boot around the clutch fork ? Would be interesting to see what my 2013 Thai ST shipped with.

It's smooth as silk, so I assume it would be a DMF.

Hey thanks for the replies, decided that it's not worth them having another go I'll wait till it slips and chuck a hd in it. Not to sure mate inspected the clutch when Nissan had the gear box out no wear to the clutch at all. Even being a smf it's still pretty smooth. But as far as I'm aware they updated to a bigger flywheel 275 I think. Not to much info at the brake and clutch shops though.
