Hi there. Have been eyeballing this site for about 6 months, but only just now decided to register as a member. Great site! I hope I will be able to contribute & to take away some helpful tips [although my knowledge is limited compared to other members].
Had a D22 3.0TD manual but I found that that doing hard starts with a trailer [single axle] half loaded was difficult & stalled. I've had to switch to 4WD in order to get over the incline & then switch back. I think that the first gear ratio was too high. anyway, after some years of frustration I decided to buy a D40 TD. What a change. Towing & hill starts are a breeze - even with a full trailer load.
