There is most likely a thread but i cant find it.
I am going to wire in an extra light (15 led) for revesing to help see. Am i able to just tap in to the revese wire and ground the light ?

I ask because i seen some where that tapping in to some existing wires throws up faults !

Thanks in advance..

Tap into the reverse light but run that to a relay...run another 12 + to power the relay which will power the led light...the reverse light circuit will not be able to supply the power you need for the led

I've recently just tapped in mine with two very small led lights on the arb beaver plate for extra light also. Although they probably draw a lot less light than the one your installing. Also try the replacement led reverse globes eBay under $5 delivered from China. Heaps of extra light.

Ok, not having much luck. I have basically i have wired it the way rabbit-chop showed me that link without the switch and i cant get it to work.

I have 30 from the battery
I have 87 positive side of lights
I have 85 earth from lights and ground to body
I have 86 from reverse lights as trigger

Can someone point out what i have done wrong..

Sounds right to me. If you put it into reverse and remove and replace the wire on pin 86 does the relay click like it is activating? Have you checked the wires with a multimeter to make sure you are getting a full 12v at both power wires? How good is the earth you have rigged up for the relay and the lights?

They'd be what I'd check to start with anyway....

Ive found body earthing very scetchy when fitting anything to do with my carpc/reverse camera and aux battery...i have since done a earth strap from the tub to the chassis.solved most problems.the towbar seems a reasonable earth point also.id say clean and double check the earths also

I have tested with a test light but i will go know and use a multi meter. I used a piece of wire and touched the earth point on the relay and than on random spots on the nav and no change.

Jut tested the volts and 12.3 with key and while running its around 14.2. still wont come on. Pulled of the trigger wire and touched the relay and its clicking.

Ok well chuck your battery feed straight to the lights. Anything? If not either dud lights or a bad earth on the actual lights....

Thanks heaps guys got it sorted. I used the terminal crimp connectors which i never use and apparently if you dont bring down thunder on them they dont connect properly ! So it was an earth issue.

Other problem i have come across is, i bought a 24inch light bar from sunyee (think there called) which comes with the wiring harness and relay. So i mounted it and hooked it all up. It has the spot/flood option. So 1 on the switch turns all on but number 2 on the switch does nothing ?

Ahh yes.i believe is always all on with those light bars..switch will either switch it on/off/on with high beams
