i been working in a navara for three weeks now. The customer drove the vehicle in flood water and it cut off soon after. He changed fuel filters and drained his tank, but that didnt help.
He brought it to my shop and a technician used the Consult 3 to pull a trouble code. None were shown.
The tech replaced the primer pump, tried a know good ecm, temperature sensor, maf sensor, three relays in the IPDM, cleaned engine grounds, disconnected the alarm system and turbo timer, removed injectors. He recalibrated the injectors using the consult 3. Then, tried on a good intake mnifold pressure sensor, crank and cam sensor.
The vehicle refuses to idle when cold, but will when normal operating temperature occurs.
We tried it all but removing the fuel pump and inspecting it. Any advice?

Welcome to the forum.

You don't indicate what model this is - common rail is different, D40 is also different.

If you get it started, will it hold 2,000rpm? If it can rev okay the pump is obviously delivering enough fuel, so it's probably okay - so is the pressure relief valve on the rail.

If it's a modern CR like the D40 I'd look at the MAFS. It's the sensor just inside the air tube as it comes out of the air box. Water ingestion could affect the MAFS without giving DTCs. Try cleaning it with electrical contact cleaner first, but if you have to replace it, it's about $400 from Nissan, although you would get it cheaper wholesale.

When the engine is cold, the glow plugs are operating (until the water temp reaches 85C, I believe). It would be worth checking those glows as well - maybe before you replace the MAFS.
