ECU location?

Good morning/evening to everybody reading this. I recently bought my first scanner, ECUTalk, but nothing seems to be working properly; i obviously installed it properly then connected it to the consult port of my car, but no gauges and no information is being shown.

My car is a Nissan Hardbody (navara), diesel, naturally aspirated qd32 engine, model 2002. Do these cars even have an ECU or any computer that will log/give back information? Why would the car even have a consult port if is serves no purpose? I need to know more about this car.

Not much of an ECU to talk to in that model, sorry mate.

Dion, then what's the purpose of the consult port?

It's designed to talk to a custom Consult device that Nissan techs have, rather than talking a standard like OBD-II.

So, basically I stand no chance in being able to use my scanner, ECUTalk?
