Done everything possible to my limited knowledge.

I hand prime it, she runs for 30secs then dies,
I check primer bulb, its empty, fuel keeps returning to the tank some how.

Thanks for your help, she is on her way to west end diesel tomorrow.
If it is the pump, touch would its not, what's the cost of fit & supply anyone know?

Have you checked to see if the hoses on the fuel filter are on the correct way. This is just a thought. If the filter assembly has been removed to change the filter and reconnected the wrong way around. I don't even know if that is possible due to hose lengths or what the result would be even if it was.

West end diesel has been great,
They have been rite through the car,
And it sadly appears that my car will be written off.

with about 8k worth of fuel system damage!
So the next few days I will update you guys.

If it does get written off ill hopefully be able to buy it back, and sell some one the 4week old lift kit I Just pit in it!

That's no good at all. Can't believe they would write it off. If you can't get it back what are you plans for a replacement?

So it's possible that water entered the fuel pump and destroyed it?

Given the pressures involved, it IS possible. Usually the injectors go - water is not very lubricative and the tiny orifice is wrecked by water at a pressure that can cut through concrete (4,000psi at idle, 10,000psi at light throttle and up to 30,000psi at full throttle - cold (hydro) concrete cutters run at 20,000psi and over).

With that said, I've not heard of them being destroyed that quickly. Anyone?

I was a tight ass when insuring the car, and set it at 20k.
With minimum 8k engine damage alone, there sure she will be leaving me :(

My fuel tank breather was stuffed allowing water/mud into the system.
I drove a few ks on it.
Tough lesson learnt.

Think ill buy a patrol, and stay away from water lol

So if water was the culprit How does one water proof the fuel system? Is it somthing that needs doing before going for a swim?I assume the tank needs to breath but is this the only entry point?

Well guys my navara is back on the road, couldn't be happier with it now, running better then ever with no black smoke and is better on fuel even more ;).

TCIS insurance have been great and paid for every part needed, total was $7,300

And west end diesel really know their stuff, I highly recommend.
car has new genuine, rail, injectors, pump, lines & hoses.

you wouldn't be-leave 3 days after getting my car back, the turbo blew.
my insurance company towed it back to westend, and its pending another claim of a total of $6000..........WOW.

do people know if turbos are covered? taking into fact the car down a deep water crossing.

if they knock the claim back, i'm thinking of just putting the $500 eBay special turbo on, i cant justify spending $4000 at nissan for one.

doesn't take much water to stuff a pump.
its not about pressures its corrosion and the extremely fine tolerances.
small amounts of water getting past the filter is the biggest problems.

tank breather is main entry point but also fuel cap. as these suck fuel from tank, any small air leak will suck water in when it goes under water.

Talk to Forefront industries about a new billet one. Still cheaper than Nissan and better performance to boot.
