Hi all,

I really need help!!!

I own navara 07 model spanish built auto stx

Couple of weeks ago i was driving on the highway and my turbo blew i stopped immediatly and got my d40 towed home.

Bought a new turbo original Garrett replaced it with a qaulified mechanic when we clicked over the car turned on beautifully and runned beautifully but wont move at all when in gear we eventually moved it and wont go over 2000rpm and or even 30kms/hour.

Can some help me understand whats going on.

Your help is most appreciated.

Sounds like it could be limp mode, which could be caused by several things, some throw the Check Engine Light some don't. If your CEL is lit, the ECU will have a code that can be read and that will give us a bit of an idea where to go. Still, it's possible to diagnose from physical descriptions too.

When accelerating, is there any smoke? How much, and what colour?

At idle, pop the bonnet. Can you see the small arm coming out of the turbocharger actuator, and does it move? If not, get someone to give the engine a rev to about 2,000rpm - does it then move? If there's no movement at all, suspect either loose/damaged vac hoses or a disconnected/failed vac solenoid. Vac hose replacement is quick and cheap. Solenoids are commonly stocked at Nissan dealers because they're a common failure point (supposedly, mine's still fine).

Also have a look at the MAFS, which sits in the back of the air hose just outside the air filter box. Remove it, be careful because it's $400 if you drop it, and spray inside the little opening with electrical contact cleaner.

That's a start. Could be a SCV thing too, but let's look at electrical things first.
