D40 engine Question

Hi everyone, im new to the forum...dont own a navara as yet but real soon hope to be! Test drove a new D40 st-x today, the 140kw auto version and was very happy with it Now, after reading information on the forum about timing chain problems etc, i hit the dealer up about it. He said that there were problems with the series 3 D40's but in the new series 4 D40's the problems have been fixed. Im not sure if thats the case or not, so if anyone else out there has any info about it...it would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum!

I thought there was a sporadic issue in the Series 4 with the turbo control valve. Other than that, they seem to be a rock-solid vehicle with better economy than previous versions.

A little bird told us that the V6 diesel was going to be here soon though. If you like ponies and have the moolah it might pay to wait.
