Hey people, just deleted the dpf and fitted a 3" xforce dpf back system on my 2010 D40 (didn't bother with dump pipe or cat after reading about the various issues others have had) . I ran the car on the dyno at work 100% stock and then again with the exhaust fitted. Same car, same dyno, no power increase. Possibly my dpf was in really good condition?
Just thought some of you may be interested.

I was told a while back that the dump pipe is quite restrictive where it exits from the turbo and the gains come from replacing this part. Then the 3 inch really comes into its own when a chip is added.

Someone maybe able to confirm this?

I agree with ozsnow, you really need to get rid of the stock dump pipe and CAT as well or change it to a high flow version.

This forum is literally plagued with countless post where people have replaced the dump and factory cat with high flow Items and have encountered a world of problems with white smoke and fuel economy issues. They have tried all sorts of weird and wonderful solutions from spacing O2 sensors and or wrapping them in aluminum foil? Auto models seem to be the main offenders. Also I've been advised by the all knowledgeable rob from chipit that there are little gains to be found in the dump area, this was backed up by a dyno equipped 4x4 performance shop who I called to converse with before undertaking this mod. Ethier way am super happy with my ute, the main motivation for removing the dpf was improved fuel economy via the ecu not running one of the cleaning cycles.

i have a 2012 st auto d40 . put a 3" s/s exhaust from turbo back on with is a geni turbo system and steinbauer performance chip and now have 170hp at rear wheels from 140kw at flywheel thing is a weapon no problems what so ever have had it on for 30xxx kms now only thing it did was after about 1000 cicks with it on the car does a dump similar to what would happen if u had the dpf pipe fitted and thats it no problems since no warning lights no limp mode

Recently fitted the hks fcon ID, laptop programmable. Love it. Power has now risen to 130kw@wheels (175hp). (Still running the factory dump pipe and cat).

The units themselves are around $1150. Plus 2-3 hours to wire in and fit. Base maps are available from hks for turn key installation. But I played with mine in the dyno for about 40 minutes and found some improvements.
