Hi guys
Would anyone know if an auto tcm from a Spain built d40 would work in a Thai d40 without any programming. If not can they be reprogrammed or has anyone had a blank one programmed ?
Thx

The TCM shouldn't need a reprog. Is it an RE5R05A? if so then no. There's no IC on it. It's just a big track PCB (in general tracks are repairable, that's what i've done). If the solenoids are "new" or non original you can do a ECU reset and Bob's your mothers brother.

have you done the tcm swap ? i'm pondering about the same thing to my auto box

Gday yeah I can confirm this works without any programming however the overdrive button is now disabled. I never turned overdrive off anyway so haven’t worried about it.

Good to know man, idk if a blank one need to be programmed as well, @australianoz post about the RE5R05A's TCM need no programming kinda gives me hope to jump the gun on TCM from Alibaba/Ebay/Amazon ,even the Body Valve Assembly is hella expensive in my place

Hi FFR1214, the only time you should need programming is when swapping the entire tranny aka a swap to a new trans with a blank memory. The TCM is a dead duck unlike the valve body and the sensors (need to be recalibrated with a new trans swap).

In practice you only need to run a learning procedure once you replace the TCM, but don't take my word for but it from the pros mouth:
