It appears Nissan have updated the strength of the D23 CV shafts compared to the D40. The actual front diff looks identical but according to ARB's technical brochure the spline count has gone from a 27 spline diff centre in the D40's to 30 splines in D23. It's probably only a small upgrade in strength as the diameter has increased marginally from 27.8 mm to 30.8 mm.
