Just wondering what sort of rwkw figures people have been managing to get out of their YD25's after modifying. I have just got mine back from Barth Bros in karratha after they fitted chip exhaust and dyno tuned and it's come back a very healthy 100.5kw and is a completely different car to drive. Very happy to say the least but wondered if anyone out there has done anything different for a few extra kws and interested in people's outcomes from chip and exhaust upgrades.

that's about the same as mine for the advertised 98kW motor d22

all depends on dyno and how its ..blah blah

Last run mine was on 118kts or 159hp atw just need a better intercooler the standard one is insufficient when you get that little oiler going better. until it shits itself I am not going to bother replacing it.

I'm hoping to have mine dynoed in the next couple of months at All Star Tuning brendale. Which is the same guy happy John used. Hoping for 120kw Atleast. Cars fitted with exhaust, chip, upgraded cooler, boost controller, and few other very minor performance additives like boost and clean fuel additive.

I have a steinbauer chip, turbo back 3" exhaust and boost t.... all star tuning at brendale put the boost up to just over 18psi and it got 121hp with 32" muddies, intercooler was holding it back and also the steinbauer chips cant really be played with which held it back as well..... All Star Tuning seemed to no there stuff but took 4hrs to do 3 dyno runs and they were very un organised and slow

Interesting information Sunny. John had his done and got 7runs on the dyno if I remember correctly. Might have got them on a shabby day lol

Somewhere between 160 - 170 hp at the wheels running 23 - 26 psi (depends what I set the boost controller to), Chip It gen I chip, 3" exhaust, custom W2A I/C set up. EGR removed. Intake system is currently limiting me getting more power and the turbo is on its way out.

Yes as Rusty said 7 runs over 1.5 hours he did have to cool the I/cooler on the final few goes to tune it correct. S/coaster even 121hp is better than the 89 mine put out stock and yours would spool up faster. The bigger tyres won't help either I did my runs on 265/70a/t.

Hey mate. Have you called Diesel Care. Not sure where you are but I can give you a contact name and number for Toowoomba or Goondiwindi if you are interested. I spoke with the rep from steinbauer on the weekend and he was telling be that the chip is very adjustable, you need special software and only a few dealers have it but they can program that chip to any tune to suit your setup. When I put to him the mods I had planed, water to air, boost mods etc, he told me that 160+ kW would be very achievable. They only pre tune the chips so the DIYer can fit them. The new version doesn't even run the signal wire to the accelerator peddle anymore.
If you want the name and numbers let me know and I'll post them up.

Cheers. Brad.

Not to disrespect you Brad you supply a heap of good info but no yd 25 with even a turbo upgrade will supply those figures regardless of the chip in d22 form I recon Dilmah is at the stage that no more can be achieved. And if it was it would be very unsafe.160 kwts plus at the wheels, are you not confused with at the flywheel figures.

Ill throw a forefront turbo in next year, Unichip and some intake pipe/airbox upgrades. Hoping for another 20+ rwkw but mostly better acceleration

Non taken mate. That was flywheel figures. We were going of the D40's ability. A D22 with turbo mods and good cooling can achieve the power. Not saying it would do it of the chip tune alone, but saying the chip has the ability to do a lot more than people think.

Yep this is how they work it out as in my case.
1 kw= 1.34h/p
Less one third loss of power though driveline.
Eg 159h/p atw = approx. 159kw at the flywheel.
Torque is at max just over 2100rpm
536nm at flywheel.
I use the extra grunt 15% of the time and I probably would of done better spending the $ on other things, but the van is near 2t with everything and I do I appreciate it.

Stock intake is very restrictive. Bigger air box and bigger air filter will help. I havnt touched the timing yet so there is some gains to be had there

The Nav goes great with it's current tune but going to 33's when the km2's wear out so any extra power will help so re tuning the chip might be the way to go, if you could throw up the number that would be great.
As for All Star Tuning, I must have got them on there worst ever day of trading as I reckon a lot of other people would have just left.
Is there many aftermarket intercooler options out there for the yd25...?
