Captive nut repair

Hi all,

Was crawling under the truck today and noticed that one of the captive nuts in the chassis to which the bullbar mounts had shit itself (spinning freely) - can I drill through the other side and stick a bolt through, or do I need to do a more complex repair?

Google it as there is quite a bit of info on captive nut repairs.

I have in the past had this issue and inserted a spring up into the chassis and the bolt pulled up nice and tight.

One of mine is the same, I knocked the old nut off with a big pin punch then dropped a new nut in. I got the old nut out as well. They are held with a couple of pissy tack welds.

It was fiddly but it eventually worked.
