Bodylifting D22 with suspension lift

hey guys ive got 2006 d22 w a 2 inch toughdog suspension lift and am looking at doing a 2 inch bodylift will I need to upgrade anything else like brakelines steering or drive shaft due to the increase in lift and angles on these parts. whats the best bodylift on the market seen heaps on ebay cheap but look dodgey

Howdy pog, there's a few things you need to look out for (mine is a '03) - There's a bracket that goes around the tail shaft that needs extending, anything over 35mm and the fan will be lower than the radiator - you need to remove the lower cowling and maybe make up an extension for the top cowling to help draw air through or lower the radiator !
Also the lower hose will have to have a support altered to hold it in place.
Maybe one with your model can help you with info on that !
Brake lines have coils in them to allow for this but lift it up slowly and keep an eye on them to make sure they do it evenly !
The one thing you will have to do that is very important and can be made by your local machine shop is an extended lower steering shaft ! A must do I think ! Once again some one with your model maybe able to give you some input on that !
Also there is a break control switch at the rear diff that needs extending also !
Mines a single cab tray model so you may have other things to watch for - don't forget all your gear shifts will be lower too especially the 4 wheel drive one and the boot will gather around this and can be a pain to select 4H 4 L etc etc you could grab one from the wreckers and extend that too !
I found 35 mm was the most I wanted to go - if you take the lower fan cowling off and measure the distance from the bottom of the fan blade to the top of the lower tank that will give you an idea of how much to lift her up !
I didn't want to lower the radiator and didn't want to create cooling issues so I thought 35mm was a safe bet- your model may have more to play with though - keep "us" posted with what you find fella marry x-mass to all !

i made my own kit, pretty easy except for the long metric fine bolts i had to re-cut threads for those, if your not keen to make the kit talk to zordo (on here), have only heard great thigs about him and his servive.
when i did my 2008 i only had to take the lower part of the fan cowling off and move the front and rear bar work.

And extend or move the rag joint on the steering column in the engine bay

I bought the 50mm zordos kit, had everything I needed but just had to get 4 different bolts for rear cos I've got a steel tray and the mounts have allready been changed.
Just removed the radiator fan shroud ( I'm still looking for one to replace) my dog destroyed it. Haven't had one for 3 years and its fine.
The pic attached is how I extended the steering column. Pretty easy just spaced it with washers and bolted it through.
Took a weekend to do with a mate.
As said before just jack it up slowly and you'll be fine

i did the 2 inch body lift, didn't do pretty much any of the stuff zed did.
just removed the tail shaft loop, lower fan shroud, extended steering shaft and spaced with some washers and that's about all from memory.
took a day on my own, i went slowly and steadily to avoid any probs.

the only thing i'd say to watch for that hasn't been mentioned is fuel filler and breather, id didnt extend mine but its a tight fit.

See in pic 1, the steering linkage, how hard is that to tighten up, I've got a lot of play in it, makes a bit of a clunk on me. Sorry to hijack thread temporarily.

not hard,i just undo the bolts and when i was finished lifting,i measure what the distance was to bolt back the linkage together.
