We have to get the irrigators in, hopefully they will be in and organised before I get back from holidays because we can't be stuffed running all the pipework from the dams to the troughs, let the experts do the job they get paid for as far as we're concerned.

We lay most of the poly around work, We had the excavator in recently to lay some 150 mm water main to a couple of center pivot sites

We've only got the front buckets on the tractor which make it kind of hard (or atleast annoying) to dig a trench for poly pipe so we let the experts do it especially since for them its not a huge job. There is already 4 dams on the property we just want to relocate a few troughs to fit in with our fencing plan so the pros should knock it over in about 2 days, with the bucket on the tractor we'd still be moving and digging the first trench after two days.

After hearing about the fencing you guys do, I'll stick to oc(c)as(s)ionl(l)y assisting the cousin with his fence repairs. Now mostly maintenance with concrete posts thumped in on black plains. 5 strand with most of the bird mesh(rabbits) now not being replaced.

After we've done the fences we've got to paint the internal walls of the house on one of the other properties, do you want to try your hand at painting instead? :sarcastic:

If i said yes before painting the walls at home life wouldn,t be worth living:sad:

I promise I wont tell anyone what you are doing  The annoying thing with this job is that the person moving into the house once it's painted is a qualified interior designer so she's going to be extremely picky with the outcome. Lucky for us though this job is not directly farm related even though it's on one of our farms so there is payment at the end of this one.

I hijacked it to offer you a job either fencing or painting a house Dave because I knew you didn't like your current job working with idiots

WA is still the same, we managed to skip the lobotomy as we crossed the border because we told them we definitely aren't staying. Only been here 24 hours an already got a heap of computers to fix because apparently it's better to save up a non working computer for 8 months and get family to fix it than have a working model for that time. Still while I've go computers to fix I don't have to socialise with family so there is an up side

Gotta go out and get more JD and beer soon though because I drank what I had in the ute on the trip over and there is no way I'm surviving three weeks here without it

The usual ? Got virus's and trojan's on the computers.

Your quiet the social family man I must say. Haha.

Nah things like keyboards not working, Office not working, virus software not updating, but the kicker is someone reset the modem to factory defaults and couldn't work out how to put the username and password in so they haven't had the net for 8 weeks. Instead of asking about it on one of the many phone calls to us they just ignore it, keep paying a bill for a service they can't use and tell me when I walk in the door that it doesn't work.

Man if you knew this family you too would learn what unsociable really means, they are fruitcakes, lucky I married the one with enough brains to get out, if only I could cure her of wanting to come back...usually it takes about 3 weeks of being here for her to want to get back home

If they can't figure out how to enter a password they can't figure out how to use a forum, besides I haven't told them their computer is fixed yet

It's not dial up it's ADSL (I might up them to ADSL2 just to give me more net since I aint paying) it was just that someone hit the factory reset on the modem and despite having step by step instructions in a file on the desktop named "modem instructions" it was too much for them too figure out how to put in their own username and password.

Ah a router. Had to fix the same problem for a few people.

There's some nice business plans you could get them on. Haha.

I just disconnected the net for 20 mins to see how loudly they would complain and I've now changed the security passwords so they can't access the wireless and there hasn't been one complaint, they really do just ignore problems.

They are already on the big T, I figured when I set it up that they needed the best service and one that wasn't going to suffer too badly from drop outs etc because I wouldn't be here to fix it (and because I wasn't paying) but I'm sure T could offer me something outrageously high priced!

I'm caught between a rock and a hard place, upgrade to ADSL2 which means I could download a heap of crap before I leave but gives them the continued benefit after I leave or leave it as it is forget about downloading and just use the net for work and forums.
