Alloy tray back trailer

Hi all,

I am about to start building my new trailer, its a ally tray type.

before i start i was wondering if anyone had built something similar and could chuck up some pics for inspiration, mainly the chassis and how you attached the tray to it.

havent built a car trailer but have had plenty of experience in truck body building and tipper trailers etc as i am a mechanical fitter (welder on the side). biggest thing i would suggest is to allow room for a spacer of some description other then steel between the ally tray and chassis (assuming it would be a steel chassis) this is due to over time the ally with corrode from electrolysis same with the bolts but thats hard to get around. As for frame wise a standard box trailer frame setup would be fine (depending on your requirements) as long as the runners or mounts can at least match up with those on the chassis. Again it all depends on your requirements for the trailer.

If you attach it with tractor 3pl pins, you can make it a tipper.

yeah hadnt really thought of a tipper, not need for one really, no progress on this yet, have picked up the steel for the chassis, waiting on axel to come in. i am also using the old rear sping from my nav as the are just sitting in the shed taking up space!!
