As Sparra said, no tune required. As for performance if you do it the way I have shown here you get a fair performance gain due to the removal of the gas jet tube. This opens up the inlet manifold and in my opinion increases performance and response.

I had no performance gain with the egr mod in fact on the dyno at lower rpm there was such a small change I would call it the same. But all that soot is elsewhere.
