170 kwts at the wheels that is approx. 220kwts at the flywheel sounds very hard to understand just like milkman's claim of 800 plus nm come on.

Milkmans 800nm at the wheels is the result of gear reduction on a chassis dyno. The torque will be multiplied depending what gear you're in, final drive ratio, ect. (not the power though, power is power once you factor in drivetrain loss) My mazda rotary made nearly 1000nm at the back wheels in 4th, in real life it probably barely makes 350nm at the flywheel.

Here you go you are spot on my final torque was 526nm at the flywheel after you convert it.

The CRD fuel system, produces 118kw from stock. The vp44 pump produces only 45kw per cylinder, therefore would need to have larger injectors?

Shoehorn a Mazda 3L commonrail injection system on to the ZD30 and you make 200hp.

Even the 1KDFTE injection system.

Some Isuzu parts would be awesome too. Haha.

Drop a 4JJ1TC in.

Don't up the compression ratio, lower it. And then up the boost to make the peak cylinder pressure (before combustion) the same. More air in cylinder + more fuel is more power. Common approach with tractor pullers.

The only way you can get an accurate torque figure out of an engine is to put it on an engine dyno. End of story..

All these claims of 600nm or 800nm that the dyno spits out are all pretty far fetched figures the majority of the time.

If you wanted a ballpark figure from a chasis dyno the only way to do it would be to measure the torque in Newtons of tractive effort stock, then modify it.

Take the percentage gain you have made and add that to the manufacturers factory torque value of the engine.

If you were going to try for 400hp though.

Billet rods and pistons, head porting, new intake and exhaust manifold, compound turbochargers running 50psi or more, massive water to air intercooler, water/methanol system, larger injectors and pump, unichip to control everything including injection timing.

You can accomplish alot with a direct injection engine that you simply cant with indirect. Not quite as much as you can with a common rail though.

OP should get away with 400hp at the engine for around $80-$100K by the time you break everything in the search for the limit each part has, then upgrade it to handle the target power

Theres a guy in Indonesia running a 500+HP hilux with the 2KD engine (2.5L CRD), its heavily modified but it ****ing hauls ass, and the turbo sounds awesome I think.

there's another vote for the chev...and a crate engine at that.

Believe me when I say that doesnt make 500hp lol.

I would believe 250hp, maybe even 300 at a strech. It looks marginally quicker than the couple of hiluxes I have tuned that made 150-160kw atw (200-215hp)

Compare to this one.
This makes a true 500hp atw (Petrol mind you)
It gets to 206kph from a standing start in just 11.8 seconds.

The other video takes 20seconds rolling on from 80kph lol.

For some reason I can't see the wrapper in edit mode, so I can't fix it. I'll just post it again to make sure ... the link you provided is below, but wrapped in YT /YT (each enclosed in square brackets).

I can't even edit my own post to change the YT link so something's not right.

both copies are working I watched both of them cause the sound of that 1UZ was awesome.

Well if you liked that one you will love this one.... this be 1200whp vs 500whp.
The car that the filming is done from is the one in previous video vs full race fabrication 1uz that runs 7.6s 1/4mile.
