About to buy manual as above 2013 build / 2014 compliance for 36500 with nudge & tow bar and bin liner...should i get auto or manual (old clutch probs) all thoughts appreciated, first ever new car and need to get it right...Thanks Mick

1st yes OLD clutch problem.

2nd. Depends what your using it for I guess. I love my Auto tows well once you get used to it & great low range gearing.

Welcome to the forum.

As above. If you're towing the auto is better, but the 2013/2014 models should have single mass flywheels so they won't have the clutch issues that the DMF-equipped models had.

Reconsider the tub liner, spray-on is far better (and you can DIY) - you won't get dirt trapped under it which wears away the paint and allows rust to begin forming.

Otherwise, it's a great price!

Thanks for the replys, i will be towing a horse float about 2300kgs max, i drive r/r trucks and would prefer auto, but wife prefers manual we do approx 15-20000 a year, with towing maybe 10% of that other wise no 4wding (yet) but have chosen the 4wd because of the higher NM..your thouhts agin would be great. Mick

The car is well suited to towing that sort of weight. We've towed 1.8T all over the place and recently upgraded to 2.5T - ours is an auto. The manual will struggle off the mark with that much weight, particularly up hills - the auto takes it in its stride.

As the Old.Tony said auto is the way to go, great around town great towing. And with the manual shift in the auto you have the best of both worlds.
