    finding genuine parts

I'd give them a call instead of the website listing, I remember they had a front guard that wasn't listed on the page for a Subaru I had. Worth a shot?

    09 D40 yd25 won’t start, auto fault ?

Ha! mine was a VL. which makes sense as I had the V8 with the same 3 speed Auto you had in the VC (Oh how I miss that car and the simplicity of a car with a Carby engine and the interior all held together by araldite)

    09 D40 yd25 won’t start, auto fault ?

What about the switch on the actual shifter? Sounds like my old Commo, I had to smack the shifter handle to get the switch to recognise it was in Park to let it start. On the Navara looks like they're on the box itself...

    09 D40 yd25 won’t start, auto fault ?

Silly question.. what's your battery like? have you checked and tested it? Dash lights flickering / electronics behaving badly is also a sign of a dead battery.

    Engine not starting.

good on you for keeping the updates flowing as others like me can learn from this

    Remote start

if you've got some intermediate understanding of wiring in a car, they aren't too hard to install. The kits come with instructions that are generally well laid out. Some kits require you to leave the transponder part of your key in the car to bypass the factory immobiliser, which then the alarm...

    Remote start

It honestly isn't worth the headache in most instances. I've done a few remote start / remote shut down installs and almost all have been on older cars that weren't too fussed on security. The Remote start is easy, you need a good kit that has the security in it as well. Check out the kits...

Thank you all - D40 moving on to a new owner

Was kinda sad seeing the old girl drive off, funnily enough it went to a family member, meaning I'll still see her every now and again. The Navara treated me well.

Thank you all - D40 moving on to a new owner

Hi All, just a small thank you to all that have helped me and the vast knowledge of the members here. My D40 is moving on to a new home and have decided to swap it out for a GWM Cannon.. lets see how this goes hey! I couldn't pass up the deal for an ex-demo with 1500k's on the clock + the 7...

    EGR delete

Blanking off the EGR? No power boost or loss, just less crud making its way back into the engine.

    EGR delete

You want to remove the whole EGR setup, not just use an $8 blanking plate from ebay?

YD25: is it really a dog?

    1) where abouts specifically is this fitting? is it a heater hose going through the firewall? 2) the bit about a manual vs auto transmission makes sense

Cruise control.. yes it’s been discussed a thousand times.

I know this is an old thread, but when my Clock Spring started playing up it was only the Volume up button that stopped working. Everything else was fine. Food for thought.

Swapping instrument cluster (Thai) with Spain-made instrument cluster

I swapped my cluster from a VSK STX to my VSK ST.. The fact that mine is 2wd vs a 4wd STX cause issues with lights error lights coming up on the cluster. I taped over the light to stop annoying me after I had the ODO corrected. I'd try and find the same model MNT cluster if you can.

YD25: is it really a dog?

I've started tinkering with mine and it's been no harder or easier than any other Japanese / Asian designed engine. For comparison, I've had to do some extensive work on an Audi / VW TDI engine... I'd rather re-build a YD25 using just my bare fingers straight after A 3000km drive. Also, I'm on...
