Have checked air box nothing unusal. Did notice driving home in the rain that the sound was much better. Had a look at the pulleys and there is a lot of gunk in the grooves. Could this make a loud tick/ rattle noise? This sound is constant at cruising speeds and goes when i accelerate.

Gday Tony, have checked air filter box nothing unusual, See it is rubber mounted, how much play should it have? Checked the 2 bolts? , tight. It sounds like the tapping noise is coming from the top of the motor.
