I'm going to disconnect the VDO gauge at that Tee piece and connect a workshop vac/pressure gauge, and go for a drive with it perched on a windscreen wiper so I can see. I've got the repco version of one of these in my tool box...
Standard 2006 ZD30. 300,000 Kms worth of wear, EGR blocked and a oil catch can fitted in the engine breather return.
Standard turbo, ECU etc.
Installed VDO 0-15 PSI Boost Gauge
Cut and Teed the little 4mm tube between the inlet and pressure sensor
Getting max of about 4 PSI boost...
What sort of globe base? BA15s?
Whilst vehicle is in reverse with ignition on, Clip the lead from the test light to the side of the globe holder. Touch the test light probe to the centre contact of the globe holder.
What happens?

The one bit of information I'm not following is quoted above. Why would the OEM arms be stronger than aftermarket?

If your car is bottoming out at the front end.. it might be worth checking the ride height and adjustment of the torsion bars.
Do you have a bull bar, lights, winch etc on the front? or standard?
If you as going to install something that spreads the width of the roof, you won't want it to thick - else you will bang your head on it while 4wd ing.
And if its really thin - how useful would it be? what would you put up there? minimum
I guess you could get something bent up from sheet...

Took the trim off and took a whole bunch of loom clips off, speaker, etc.
stuck it to inside of the outer skin, plus the outside of the inner skin - where the trim is attached.
Cheapest I found was from motoquipe...
