    Cheap working obd scanners

Not the most elegant of solutions, but you can buy a HUD display for a phone. (Getting the data on your phone using the elm 327 and Torque app)

    D40 V9X Fuel primer location

7.89. The size is actually stamped on the plastic cap covering the bleed point. Fairly easy to make one up with a length of clear tube and a generic primer bulb. You just need to make sure the 7.89 coupling, hose and primer all have the same hose size!

    D40 V9X Fuel primer location

Fair to say you have all been unknowingly doing it wrong. This is the bulletin issued to the dealers. If you look at the detail it is not the same as the workshop manual. I would suggest you print this and put it with the primer or handbook in case you run out of fuel one day.

    v9x radiator removal

The key to preventing airlocks is to refill the system at the litres per minute specified (1.5 from memory). Easily overlooked!

    Nissan Navara 2013 V6

You need to pump the manual primer until you get no bubbles. If you carry on getting bubbles, check the various connectors, especially the one that blew off.

    Timing Chain Yorkshire

The bloke making the videos served prison time for defrauding customers. You just made him some more money by watching his videos.

    No revs in reverse?

The neutral position sensor on the main gearbox is the likely culprit.

    Locked out

If your mate has breakdown cover, see if they can call out an auto locksmith as part of their service.

The front grille, wings, bonnet, headlights and bumper were substantially changed with the introduction of the 2010 onwards model.

    recalibrating fuel economy reading

First things first... Your odometer reading is incorrect, measure it against a known distance and you will see it overheads by about 8%. Secondly, fuel consumption is very difficult to measure. The normal method is to use the time the injectors are open for and guess the amount of fuel that...

STX550 V9X Boost loss going up hill at 20psi

I guess a fair amount of 80kph speed limits where you are? 80kph/50mph is not a common speed limit in most countries.

STX550 V9X Boost loss going up hill at 20psi

Have a read...a lot of work from Nissan and Jatco went into this tranny. (As well as Navara, I have had 2 Infinitis with this transmission, a V6 diesel and a V6 petrol, these both seemed much smoother and more responsive than the Navara. I guess the Infiniti techs get paid more than the Nissan...

STX550 V9X Boost loss going up hill at 20psi

In some ways you have just tested the theory... You are not the first to have noticed the weird goings on at dead on 80kph as the TC locks up. Yes, it appears to be more noticeable when under load, next time you are out driving normally, deliberately hover at 80 and you will probably see the...

    D40 Front Diff issue?

If you are using 4wd on sealed or reasonably high grip surfaces the transmission windup and subsequent fiddling between 2 and 4 wd are perfectly normal. The D40 was US designed so no thoughts of a centre diff. Easy to double check diff ratios. Jack up a wheel, rotate the wheel by hand exactly...

STX550 V9X Boost loss going up hill at 20psi

One thought that may or may not help... 80kph is exactly when the first stage of the torque converter locks up. It is possible that you are at exactly the point where the transmission can't decide whether to lock up or not. The fluttering might be the TC lockup cutting in and out. Note the...

    Timing Chain Yorkshire

Good call, as you probably know Bradford is the home of UK organised car crime, so you need to start well clear of that town.

    D40 and Towing heavy vans

Actually the cooler in the radiator is not a cooler. It is there specifically to get the transmission up to temperature fairly quickly, so actually it is a heater. Not required I guess in Australia but in countries where zero degrees is common for much of the year it is needed.

    Navara V6 V9X STX550 Torque Converter Slip

I read this the other day, not that relevant to your situation, but interesting RE7R01A Transmission / JR710E / RE7R01B Transmission Overview First introduced for the 2009 model year in the Nissan 370Z, InfinitI FX and Infiniti G series, the RE7R01A transmission is a 7-speed automatic...

    d22 king cab on a d40 chassis???

No reason why the D22 body wouldn't go on a D40 châssis. You might need to modify the body mounts and definitely need to add things like fuel tank mounts and engine mounts. The downside being you would need to buy D40 suspension, hubs, steering etc. On the steel grades, not sure why you are...
