    Quick advice - Timing Chain

No, there are no specified procedures by Nissan that need to be followed at service intervals. However, no reason why the front end couldn't be stripped down and wear on the chain measured, apart from labour cost.

    Quick advice - Timing Chain

Correct, a YD25DDTI is fitted which has simplex lower chain. There is no such thing as a timing chain service. They aren't like rubber belts which are relatively easily inspected and changed. Failed timing chains are not that common, from what I have seen far more likely on vehicles which have...

    D40 Engine Swap

I seem to remember that the pre and post 2010 engines have a minor difference in that one of the bell housing bolts is a stud on the later model. Apart from that the physical engines are indeed the same. On the LSx swap, there is nice thread on club frontier. A lot of work and will certainly...

    Speed limiter

You just need to find the add on speed limiter module. They use a GPS receiver which will me mounted under the top of the dashboard, find that first.

    What Locker should I get?

Just my opinion Rear lockers are handy and will improve traction in the sticky stuff, especially with the limited travel on leaf springs. But fronts, on a very long wheelbase Navara with road tyres! A bit like sharpening a butter knife. For me arb every time.

    Speed limiter

It is possible if the D23 is an ex-utility company vehicle that the 75mph limiter has been set into the ECU.

    New vehicle choices in Europe

In Europe the pickup (aka Ute, bakkie) market has gone strange.. The only models available new are the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux and the Isuzu Dmax. None are bad vehicles, but that's it, nothing else. Be thankful that you have some choice!

    Navara D40 wind deflectors

I was being flippant with the cigarette butts, something you shouldn't do whether in a forest fire risk country or not!

    Navara D40 wind deflectors

Wind deflectors..All they do is make extra wind noise. Actually if you smoke and drive, they will allow the smoke to blow away and you can flick the butts out of the window without them blowing back in. That's the only use.

    Shocks.

For a leaf spring shock absorbers (or dampers as they are correctly called) have very little work to do as leaf springs naturally have a fair amount of damping anyway. So don't worry about the shocks, pick a brand you recognise. Do worry about the springs, they make all the difference.

    Boost solenoid

There is an electronic actuator on the turbo that is controlled by the ECU. A better system than vacuum and a boost control solenoid as it is less on/off. Saying that, as with all improved technology, it is expensive to replace if it goes wrong. Very rare though

    D40 4x4 2.5d front brake upgrade

The following will help if your problem is lack of initial bite when you press the pedal. Replace all the rubber brake hoses with braided. Replace fluid at every service. Replace front pads with a premium brand. If you can source greenstuff pads they bite really well. If you want to go more...

    Boost solenoid

You do not have a boost control solenoid on a 2012.

    Navara D40 seat belt tensioner

Just the belt. Use some very mild detergent, but rinse it off well to stop it going stiff.

    Navara D40 seat belt tensioner

It's normal. Mostly sweat and dust on the belt. Give it a clean and a spray with silicon spray.

    V9X egr

The $150 is a charge to reset the fault code. Not good value for money, but somebody has to pay for the shiny showroom.

    MAF sensor wiring

Agreed, no chance of Nissan being able to provide it, or even having a part number (not sure why a party number would help) If you need/want a new one, AliExpress have a wide range of denso connectors, it will take a bit of searching.

    Newbie having problems

Your first check is to find out if you have air in the fuel system. You have a primer bulb near the fuel filter, squeeze this until it goes firm. Then see if the van starts and runs ok. If the bulb does not get firm then you have an air leak. If the bulb does get firm, but you still have the...
