The 550 has timing chains don't worry about them unless they get noisy.The main belt is a serpentine belt that drive everything change every 100,000 kms.There about $80.00 from Nissan. Also check the idler pulleys and tensioner.

Yes it is a speedo needle error. I have a al619 scan tool and reads road speed which is correct. all the way, so the ecu is good. I think they must do this on purpose and not just Nissan. I know Jaycar have a speed corrector module at about $40 which you can put on speedo to adjust indicated...

I think I did see something in the owners manual its wrong procedure for the 550.

To reset the spanner service interval symbol you have to hold both clock adjust knob and the trip meter switch in at the same time and then turn on ign.sw. Then it will flash and you can reset the interval.You need long fingers or get someone to help.

My stx 550 speedo reads high 7km/hr so if its says you are at 100kms/hr you are really doing 93kms have checked with GPS . Has anyone else had this ? seems to be about the same at all speeds maybe a bit more out over 110 ...

here you go I put a bit of plastic tube at end of primer and into a bottle to stop fuel going everywhere.Just keep squeezing bulb till all the bubbles are out.

Changed fuel filter couple of times.not hard to do 1 plug 2 fuel lines 2 bolts holding bracket. Primer bulb is located behind LH back seat. Primer connection under plastic cover on top engine.

I have an Autel AL619 scan tool works very well on the STX550. It shows just about anything you won't incl.ABS and air bag. Easy to use and set up.Also has live data graphics,shows boost, egt and coolant temp, clears codes etc.

I have got the belt off as suggested.You do have to take off the air intake from throttle body at top for access and get to tensioner from the bottom.The idler on drivers side was a little rough and alternator clutch pulley noisey. I will replace all and belt.

Thanks guys I will try tomorrow and get the belt off to try and determine which pulley is noisey.My main concern was getting the tensioner off.They also say once belt pulleys and tensioner is removed never reuse.Have looked at the belt and looks ok.

Has anyone changed the serpentine belt and pulleys? I have a noise and think it is the alternator clutch pulley.You can hear the noise when cold mainly when you rev engine and take foot off acc. quickly. looks quite difficult to get to.My stx550 has done only 89,000kms.

Yes I have changed fuel filter on my v9x no problem.Just make sure you work clean when taking fuel lines off.When done make sure you prime the fuel lines with the primer bulb located behind the back seat.you can only get the filter from Nissan about $100.00
