Where a Navara is good for everything!

Can't be a Navara... the timing chain should have let go :P

How to know if my D40 has a DPF?

Nope. Like others here, Auto - 2013 VSK ST - No DPF. @ViniciusArrudas - easiest way is to slide under the car on the passenger side - if you see a huge looking barrel coming from the back of the turbo leading down and connecting to the exhaust under the ute.. that's the DPF. If it's got a cat...

    3 tapping sounds

    1) Jack the car up and try and wobble the wheel, could be a bush. 2) Jack the car up and spin the wheel and listen carefully, could be the bearing on its way 3) Check they didn't leave anything in the car that shouldn't be there or that they replaced everything and nothing is loose.

    Front Seats replacement

I need to do my drivers as well, the cloth is fine but the support on the right hand side has collapsed from the sliding in and out of the seat. I'm just going to get another D40 one from the wreckers in decent condition The D23 body looks too different for me to even assume they would fit...

    scanning tool

Really depends on what you want to do? Do you want Nissan level scanning or the run of the mill scanning that we all generally do and see what errors the car has? if the D22 has OBD2, any scanner will work, from the Torque app on your phone to a cable one you can now even buy at Bunnings and...

    Replacing Ignition on D40 Navara

Either BCM or ECU, Immobiliser would definitely be linked. Which is why generally you need the software to re-program a key to the car. Why aren't you looking at just getting new keys made up to match your car rather than changing the barrel? I'd honestly go to Nissan or a locksmith and just...

    Replacing Ignition on D40 Navara

Not sure on where the receiver is for the D40 on the immobiliser and have a feeling it's part of the BCM setup.. meaning you might need to change the barrel (worst case) and get a key place to program it. Hopefully someone else can chime in, but I'd prob ask a Nissan service centre first or a...

    Unknown electrical thing

Legend, thanks heaps mate. Yeah here in Aus, 99% of the country won't necessarily ever need something like that here, but I've been overseas and experienced -20, so definitely understand why it would exist!

    Unknown electrical thing

I'm more confused on how it works, as in is there an element in the sump? Edit - it warms the radiator coolant, so it must then electro pump it? if it just warms the coolant then not sure how it keeps the oil from solidifying

Should i buy this one? New member

Are you sure the prev owner didn't do some of his own oil changes? 30k Km's is a ridiculous amount of driving to go without an oil change. I still shudder when I see new cars with 15k intervals. Ultimately it could still be a great car and no drama vs one that's had a service done every...

    D40 automatic

Welcome mate. Value for money it can't be beaten. It's a bit slow on the pump but it does the job.

    D40 automatic

I certainly do my friend. With this beauty right here - $20 pump from ebay I use this religiously, it has made life so much easier on all my cars I've had and for the price will gladly replace it again and again. one of the hoses it comes with is specifically thinner and firmer to get down...

    D40 automatic

Generally smoother shifts and feels like it doesn't take as long to get to the next gear. Even in mine it feels like it holds 3rd for a bit too long before it hits 4th but it's sporadic. In saying that, when it does happen it's nothing noticeable to anyone else but me in the drivers seat.

    D40 automatic

Let us know how you go, definitely do the filter as a part of the service, it was really simple to do (obviously you'd know considering how far into the box you are) I bought mine with a full service history at 250k, I'm at almost 300 and already done the fluid again. (once when I bought it and...

    D40 automatic

if it wants to still move forward in reverse, doesn't sound like an oil problem. Sounds like a problem with gear selection in the box, probably just a dodgy solenoid or electricals inside it

    Spanish bumper on Thai build

is there any reason why you can't get a Thai bumper instead? I wouldn't even bother attempting it with the risk of supports / screw / bolt holes being in different locations and not a decent match. Even the nudge bar is different when it comes to bolting it on between VSK and MNT.

    Engine and DPF lights

Hi mate, I'm on a D40 and thankfully I scored the 2013 model that's DPF free! :) I use it primarily for the family car (Audi) so I bought the one that has specific extra functions for the manufacturer. I can say it pin points extra errors and in more detail than Torque
