    Engine failure

Where did you find a long motor? just a wrecker?

    Engine failure

Wow... cams take a bit of pressure to snap!

    Cylinder head replacement

Can vouch for this, did the same on my TDI engine when I ripped the inlet manifold off. It was caked with oily soot.

    D40 front speakers

They are 6X9's in the front. Just get some aftermarket JVC's from Supercheap etc, better sound and are about $60-70 for the pair

    No crank ,No start :...(

Thanks for the update mate, stuff like this we all need. Judging by majority of the posts I've seen in my time, I'd prob put Timing Chain at the top of the list of known issues. Then a weak as chips head that will crack at any sign of temp climbing. You know, just basic cheap stuff to...

    No crank ,No start :...(

So.. it got warm to hot, then stopped. Now won't crank and won't start. Have you tried to see if you can actually turn the engine by hand?

    Ok....

    Engine failure

I'm confused, isn't the bottom chain just for the pump and not the timing?

2015 Nissan navara d40 dash light replacement

Not sure if this will help, when I opened up my D40 dash, there were no globes for changing when it came to the backlights, they were little LED / SMD chips soldered to the board. I'd recommend popping it open and checking inside. A lot of clusters these days wouldn't use the old school...

    automatic gearbox

I need to spend some more time on that document, wasn't too easy to find a quick solution on limiting it to 1 and 2

Look's like i'll be pulling the head.

Sounds like you have avoided some decent work if the bores and pistons look the goods mate. Even if the valves look decent and the seal they are creating looks the goods, could definitely point to the timing being out. Who changed the chain and the guides? might have been a cheap set done at...

Look's like i'll be pulling the head.

Might be something as simple as the valves to be honest. If you bought it cheap, I'm assuming you bought it expecting to be opening her up! how many k's on it?

    Catch can

I bought one from ebay and it was about $30 for the catch can. it works a treat mate. You don't need to outlay a lot for a simple contraption. Here it is - Oil Catch Breather Can Kit Universal Petrol Filter Baffled Diesel Reservoir Tank | eBay I just used some better hose than what came...

    Fuel additive

Fuel doctor is a good bit of kit, I use it in both cars and it certainly does the job. The only downside is that it has been creeping up in price a lot lately!

Black sludge under oil cap, no white

One thing I used to believe was that when an engine got higher in KM's it was better to start going thicker oil. In chatting to an engineer at some stage, he set me straight and told me it was a myth. If you have a healthy engine stick to the OEM recommend viscosity as the engine was engineered...

    Two problems or one?

It might actually be a wheel sensor for the ABS. it's not uncommon for the sensors to play up

    automatic gearbox

Switching off D and only going into sports mode, I think it still might shift to 3rd by itself if you're going too fast? No? The only fixed solution I can think of might be to disable some of the solenoids in the gearbox so it physically can't shift past 1 and 2. I'm no specialist.. these are...

    All aluminium radiators

I've had some decent luck with them in the past. For the price of getting my old one reconditioned I opted for an ebay radiator and it served me well for the rest of the time I had the car. If I had to update mine, I'd more than likely opt to buy an ebay one as well.

    D40 Alternator pully gone missing

So now I have to worry about a Timing Chain letting go or an Alternator Pulley crumbling itself to pieces. lovely.

    No throttle response

For the price of a pedal, I'd try that as a first stop.. You don't have a drive selector installed do you? the little computer chips that alter throttle response?
