You are probably right about the grounding issue. Have a look on here for the service manual, it has all of the grounding connections as I recall

Have you tried it again after refilling with new coolant? I take it the radiator is clear and not pegged up with grass seeds etc? Does it run alright when cold?

That is good news. I have no water in my oil and no bubbles in my coolant so I am hopeful that I am in good shape. I have another rad with plastic tanks though, needed to get her back on the road asap😕

Once you have recharged your battery you will need to loosen one of the injector lines until you get fuel from it when cranking But you may have blocked your fuel filter too if you sucked up some mucky **** from the bottom of the tank

Yeah sounds like the starter, or at least very close to my symptoms. The fact that I was getting a crank angle fault, but it ran fine once started proved it was not the sensor. I had never realised the tacho was stationary while cranking until I replaced the starter. I bought a new one from...

I jacked it up and removed the front wheel. Took a bit of wiggling and jiggling but it came out ok
